Fushigi Yuugi was one of the first manga I ever read, and I loved it to pieces. I was a hardcore fangirl. My friends and I used to take turns buying the most recent volumes with our allowance and share them. We were about the same age as Miaka then. Those were good times! From there, the next series I really fell in love with was From Far Away. I never really got into Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden. I’m pretty sure the reason why was because I couldn’t completely accept the male lead was sometimes male and sometimes female. I like to relate to the female lead, and I can’t picture my prince charming occasionally turning into princess charming. I wonder if Yuu Watase will ever write the story of Byakko… I’d love to read it if she does!
